The Paraoh Jacket has been well received every time it is released, but this time we used tweed fabric jointly developed with a textile manufacturer based on the vintage collection of JELADO.
A rare gown fabric from the 1950s, woven with a vintage Schonherr loom by twisting wool top yarn and 100% cotton yarn to express crispness.
Schonherr looms, like shuttle looms for denim, are slow to weave (about 1/5) compared to modern looms, and can only weave 20 to 30 meters per day, but that means extra tension on the thread when weaving. It is finished plumply without applying.
The fabric this time is high density and soft fabric.
The collar, sleeves, and pocket openings are patterned with ribs that were rare at the time, and are woven with strong twisted yarn using 50% wool x 50% acrylic 32nd two-ply yarn.
We are also particular about pattern assembly, using an old-fashioned rib knitting machine to express hand-knitted patterns (threads are arranged manually), so the balance adjustment of the pattern is finished in a way that only skilled craftsmen can do. We are here.
